SUFFERN, N.Y. - Sophomore Kristyna Pavlickova tied for first individually to help lead the Boston University golf team to its first victory of the spring season at the Roar-EE Invitational on Friday at Spook Rock Golf Course.
The Terriers combined to shoot a 338 and edge Siena by two strokes for the team title. The event was shortened from 36 holes to 18 holes due to inclement weather. Pavlickova led the way with a 79 (40-39), two shots clear of Siena's top golfer, to share first place with three other players. It is Pavlickova's third individual victory in 2012-13 as well as the Terriers' third win as a team in that span.
Freshman Emily Tillo finished tied for 13th with an 85 (41-44) while classmate Maddy Silverman was tied for 16th with an 86 (44-42). Sophomore Flor Canedo (45-43) and Christine Silen (43-45) each shot an 88 to tie for 27th place.
BU will look to carry the momentum from Friday's victory to the Rhode Island Country Club for three days of competition. On Saturday, BU will face Brown as a tune-up for the Brown Invitational, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday.
