
Three Terriers Earn Patriot League Weekly Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Rosa Moriello and freshman Djenne Parris of the women's track & field team joined freshman Justin Flynn of the Boston University' men's track & field team as Patriot League weekly award winners, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Moriello was selected as Female Track Athlete of the Week while Flynn and Parris were named Male and Female Rookie of the Week, respectively. All three were victorious at the BU Multi-Team Meet on Jan. 16 at the Track and Tennis Center.
After a successful cross country season, Moriello returned to the track and won both the 3,000-meter run and the mile while setting ECAC qualifying times in each event at. She beat the ECAC standard by more than 15 seconds while finishing with a time of 9:42.97 in the 3,000m run and topped the mark by more than seven seconds in the mile with a time of 4:51.56. She leads the Patriot League in both events this season.
Flynn earned his first Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor after a first-place finish in the 60m dash. He put up one of the fastest times in the Patriot League this season and hit an IC4A qualifying mark with a time of 6.91 seconds.
Parris also earned her first Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor following two strong performances. She placed fourth with a time of 7.96 seconds in the 60m dash and ran on the Terriers' winning 4x400m relay team which set an ECAC qualifying time of 3:49.75.
BU will return to action on Jan. 24-25 when the Terriers host the John Thomas Terrier Invitational at the Track and Tennis Center.
