Terriers To Compete at Foot of the Charles on Saturday
November 13, 2014 | Women's Lightweight Rowing
Saturday's Schedule
The Boston University women's rowing team will conclude the fall portion of the 2014-15 season on Saturday at the Foot of the Charles. The Foot will feature varsity and novice eight races against area schools. The MIT Boathouse will serve as the starting line for varsity competition while the Riverside Boat Club will be used for novices.
“By the Foot of the Charles, the team will have trained together for two months and we should be able to put our best performance together for this event,” said women’s rowing head coach Stacey Rippetoe. “That is the goal for our crews.”
The Terriers have not competed since Oct. 26th at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase as the Terriers’ last scheduled competition, the Small Boat Regatta on Nov. 1, was cancelled due to bad weather.
On Saturday the Terriers will compete against crews from Harvard, Boston College, Northeastern and MIT starting at 9 a.m. The BU lightweights will go up against other lightweight crews from Harvard and MIT.
This weekends' competition concludes the team's fall schedule. BU will continue training and prepare the spring season starting at Clemson on March 14.
