Bach Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week
November 17, 2014 | Women's Ice Hockey
WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman Victoria Bach of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Bach lit the lamp in all three of the Terriers' games this past week to earn her first weekly award from Hockey East. She helped put Sunday's game out of reach with a breakaway goal to give BU a 4-1 second-period lead in an eventual 4-2 win. She also used a great individual effort to notch her goal on Saturday, winning a battle to collect her own rebound and score late in the second period of the Terriers' 3-2 win at UConn.
A native of Milton, Ontario, Bach is tied for the NCAA lead among rookies with seven goals, thanks in part to her current four-game goal streak. She is also the only Hockey East freshman to have more than one power-play goal, having scored three this season, including one on Tuesday night against Northeastern.
BU will be back in action on Friday night (Nov. 21) when the Terriers host Harvard at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
