
Terriers Compete at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Boston University golf team finished eighth in the Pinehurst Challenge this past weekend at Pinehurst No. 1 in the second tournament of the team's spring schedule.
BU combined for a total of 629 (313-316) during the rain-shortened event. The teams were originally scheduled to play 54 holes but only completed 36, playing 18 on Saturday and again on Sunday.
Junior Kristyna Pavlickova led the Terriers with a two-day total of 152 (74-78) to finish in a tie for 11th. Her 74 on Saturday was the Terriers' lowest individual score on the weekend.
Freshman Adela Cejnarova finished in a tie for 19th with a 154 (78-76), including the Terriers' low round on Sunday. Sophomore Emily Tillo fired back-to-back rounds of 79 to finish with a 158 while senior Christine Silen carded a 166 (82-84). Junior Flor Canedo rounded out the BU contingent with a 171 (88-83).
The Terriers began the week with a match-play victory over Siena. Canedo, Tillo and Cejnarova led the way for the Terriers. They combined for 23 birdies during the week in Pinehurst, including 17 over the two-day tournament.
BU will return to action on April 5-6 when the Terriers compete at the Seton Hall Invitational.
