Terriers Face No. 1 Brown on Saturday, Compete in Charles River Lightweight Invite

With two races remaining before the Eastern Sprints, the Boston University women's rowing team will head to Providence, R.I. on Saturday to take on No. 1 Brown. The first race will be the third varsity eight set to begin at 10:40 a.m.
The Terriers will be seeking their first Arlene Gorton Cup victory over the Bears since 1993. Last year's race between the teams was cancelled and not rescheduled due to the Boston Marathon bombings.
After taking on the No. 1 team in the country this weekend, the Terriers will travel to Lewisberry, Penn. to face Patriot League foe Bucknell on April 26th before heading to Collingswood, N.J. to race in the Eastern Sprints on May 4th.
The Boston University women's lightweight rowing team will also be in action this weekend, competing in the Charles River Lightweight Invite on Saturday and Sunday at the DeWolfe Boathouse. The team will be competing against lightweight boats from Stanford, Wisconsin, MIT and Harvard.
The women's lightweight team is coming off a very successful performance last weekend at the Knecht Cup in West Windsor, N.J. The varsity eight boat finished second in the lightweight grand final and second in the openweight petite final.
The lightweight varsity eight boat will start things off at 9:12 a.m. on Saturday.
Following this weekend's competition, the lightweight team will travel with the BU women's openweights to Lewisberry, Penn. to face the Bucknell lightweights before competing in the Eastern Sprints on May 4th.
