
Terriers compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday

RESULTS
Lead by a pair of top 10 finishes and he Boston University women's track & field team competed in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday at the Track and Tennis Center.
Senior Gemma Acheampong ran 7.52 to take third place overall in the 60m dash. Acheampong has 4 top-3 finishes this season, including two wins and a school record with a 7.49 on Dec. 9. The other top-10 performance was turned in by sophomore Ally Saccone who finished 9th in the 60m hurdles with a season best time of 8.86.
Sophomore Sarah Saccoach and Junior Shelby Stableford both turned in personal bests in the Mile run, finishing at 4:52.94 and 4:57.47 respectively. The 800m run saw another pair of Terriers achieve personal bests, as senior Ashley Tagoai ran 2:16.33 and Christina Romak ran 2:17.77. Tessa Runnells had a season best in the long jump at 5.44m.
The BU men's track & field team will compete in the men's portion of the David Hemery Valentine Invitation on Saturday at the TTC beginning at 10:15 a.m as scheduled. After 10:15 a.m., the meet will follow a rolling schedule, starting the next event immediately at the conclusion of the preceding event in an effort to speed up the meet given the weather forecast for Saturday night.
After this weekend's competition, BU will be back in action on Feb. 20 - 22 in Annapolis, MD for the Patriot League Championship.
