BOSTON - The Boston University golf team and head coach Bruce Chalas announced the team's 2015 fall schedule on Monday.
BU, the reigning Patriot League champion, will play in five tournaments over two months, beginning with the Diane Thomason Invitational on Sept. 12. Four of the five tournaments will be 54-hole affairs, including the two-day opener at the University of Iowa, which has the Terriers playing 36 holes on Sept. 12.
Following their second straight appearance at the Diane Thomason Invitational, the Terriers will look to defend their Dartmouth Invitational title on Sept. 26 and 27. Senior Emily Tillo is the defending individual champion at that event.
The Terriers will tee off in two new tournaments this fall, including the Forest Oaks Fall Classic (Oct. 2-4) hosted by UNC Greensboro. BU will return to New England for the Yale Invitational (Oct. 9-11) before concluding the fall with its debut at the Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 25-27) hosted by the College of Charleston.
"It's my eighth year coaching and I'm real excited for what will be our most competitive schedule we've ever had," Chalas said. "We have the most experienced team in program history, as our team makeup is heavy with tournament veterans."
Including Tillo, the Terriers return four of their five golfers that competed at the Patriot League Championship and the NCAA Tournament. Junior Adela Cejnarova was a two-time winner last season and sophomore Phyllis Tang was the league's Most Outstanding Rookie. Senior Sarah Easton played her best round of 2015 at the NCAA Regional, while Tillo led the Terriers with a 76.04 scoring average in 28 rounds last season.
