The Boston University Women's Rowing team is holding open tryouts! We are looking for athletes who are interested in being part of a highly competitive team. NO previous rowing experience is required.
An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Eilberg Lounge (upstairs in the Case Center at 285 Babcock St, West Campus).
Can’t make it? The team will have another information session on Thursday, September 3rd from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Eilberg Lounge.
BU Women's Rowing is a Division 1 program competing in the Patriot League Conference and NCAA National Championships (openweight) or the Eastern Sprints Conference and IRA National Championships (lightweight).
Ideal walk-on prospects for the openweights will be at least 5’9" and 150 lbs. Ideal walk-on prospects for the lightweights will be at least 5’4” and under 130 lbs. Ideal coxswain candidates are around 110 lbs. Coxswains steer the boat, provide directions for the rowers, and help run practice and race plans.
Practice is daily from 6:30 - 9:00 a.m. throughout the year for the openweights and 3:30-6:00 p.m. for the lightweights.
There will be a one week try-out period starting on September 12th.
