BOSTON - Paced by a third-place performance from freshman Paul Luevano, the Boston University men's cross country team finished fourth at the New England Championship on Saturday at Franklin Park.
Defending their 2015 title, the Terriers totaled 156 points. Northeastern won with 102 points, followed by Brown (113) and MIT (133).
Luevano, who began his collegiate career with a victory in September's Nassaney Invitational, was third in just his second race at BU thanks to a time of 24:40.01. Classmate Greg Pelose was next best with a 29th-place finish (25:30.32), followed by junior Cullin Burdett in 33rd (25:31.50). Sophomore Alexander Seal (41st, 25:39.43) and freshman Brett Davidson (50th, 25:47.37) rounded out the top-50 harriers for BU. Senior Ethan Homan was 100th (26:32.94) and sophomore Johnny Kemps took 108th (26:37.55).
BU will be back in action next Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Rothenberg Invitational hosted by Brown.
