CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Emily Tillo of the Boston University golf team was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Month, the conference announced on Friday.
Tillo was terrific during the first three tournaments of the spring season. She averaged a score of 75.44 over nine rounds en route to a pair of top-10 finishes. Her best performance came in the Battle at Boulder Creek when she set a program record with a four-under 68 to finish tied for fourth. She also tied for 10th in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Tillo is now a four-time Patriot League Golfer of the Month. This year is shaping up to be a repeat of last season, as Tillo last received the honor for her efforts in March of 2015. She finished last spring as an All-Patriot League first-team selection as well as the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
BU posted two top-5 finishes as a team in the spring and also bettered nearly half the field at the Kiawah Island Classic. The Terriers took second in the Battle at Boulder Creek and were fourth at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate. They will be back on the course at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational on April 4.
