
Terriers Open Fall Season at William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Boston University golf team opened its 2016 fall season at the William & Mary Invitational, with play concluding on Monday.
The Terriers finished eighth in the 54-hole tournament at The River Course at Kingsmill Resort. BU combined for a total of 934 (307-310-317), just four shots behind seventh-place IUPUI.
Freshman Zhangcheng Guo competed as an individual and was the Terriers' top performer over the weekend. She closed the tournament with a pair of 74s after an opening-round 77 for a three-day total of 225, good for a tie for sixth. Guo recoreded eight birdies and led the field in par-3 scoring at -1 for the weekend.
Junior Phyllis Tang led the Terriers in team scoring with a 227 (76-74-77) to finish in a tie for 11th. Senior Adela Cejnarova also carded three rounds in the 70s, finishing tied for 16th with a 229 (74-77-78). Cejnarova led BU and was tied for second overall with 10 birdies. Freshman Abby Parsons compiled a 241 (78-83-80) in her collegiate debut, with classmate Saeros Oskarsdottir (86-76-88) also firing a round under 80 in her first-ever collegiate tournament. Sophomore Megan Carter finished with a 248 (79-87-82) in a weekend highlighted by an opening-round 79.

BU will next head to Hanover, New Hampshire, for the Dartmouth Invitational (Sept. 24-25).
