Women's Basketball Returns to the Road at Bryant Wednesday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball will return to the road as it commences a two-game trip, starting with a 7 p.m. contest at Bryant on Wednesday, Nov. 29. The Terriers and Bulldogs first-ever matchup can be seen live on NEC Front Row for free.
LAST TIME OUT
- BU held Boston College to just 33.8 percent (22-65) shooting from the floor and a 14.3 clip (3-21) from beyond-the-arc in a 61-57 victory on Sunday.
- Katie Nelson led the Terriers in scoring for the third straight game, netting 19 points.
- Naiyah Thompson picked up her first career double-double with 11 points and a team-best 10 rebounds.
- Corrine Williams followed with 10 points for her third straight game scoring in double figures and also pulled down seven rebounds.
- The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Eagles and marked BU's first win in the series since 2012.
- Katie Nelson repeated as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after netting 19 points against both Harvard (Nov. 21) and Boston College (Nov. 26).
- For the week, Nelson shot both 42.8 percent from the floor (12-for-28) and from beyond beyond-the-arc (9-for-21).
- She also dished out five assists against the Crimson and three against the Eagles, while only turning the ball over once in each game.
- The Falmouth, Massachusetts native leads the Patriot League with 5.2 assists per game and leads all freshmen in the league with 15.4 points per game.
BLOCK PARTY
- Sophie Beaudry leads the Patriot League with 2.6 blocks per game.
- The senior led the league with 2.1 blocks per game a season ago and was named to both the All-Patriot League First Team and the All-Defensive Team.
- As a team, the Terriers lead the Patriot League with 5.60 blocks per game.
- BU swatted a season-high 11 shots against the Eagles on Sunday.
FROM THE FLOOR
- Payton Hauck ranks second in the Patriot League with a .581 shooting percentage, while Katie Nelson ranks fourth with a .429 shooting clip.
- Hauck has shot over .550 percent in four out of five games.
- Sophie Beaudry follows with a .455 mark from the floor.
- Beaudry led the Patriot League last season with a .509 field goal percentage.

- BU leads the Patriot League with a .402 3-point field goal percentage.
- Katie Nelson leads the league with in triples per game (3.4) and 3-point field goal percentage (.486).
FLOOR GENERAL
- Katie Nelson leads the Patriot League in assists (26) and assists per game (5.2).
- Nelson also leads the league with 37.6 minutes per game.
HEATING UP
- Corrine Williams has notched double-digit scoring figures the last three games and has shot at least .500 percent from the floor in all three contests.
- Williams is also averaging 7.6 rebounds over the last three games.
- With a win, BU would get off to its first 4-2 start since the 2007-08 season.
SCOUTING BRYANT
- The Bulldogs are winless at 0-5, with their most recent loss coming in a 59-57 overtime decision at Holy Cross on Sunday.
- Sydney Holloway, a NEC All-Rookie team selection a season ago, leads the team in points (15.6), rebounds (8.8) and blocks (1.4) per game.
- Naomi Ashley (11.4) and Kierra Palmer (7.8) follow in scoring and join Holloway as the only Bulldogs who have started every game this season.
- Holloway poured in a career-high 24 points against Holy Cross on 7-of-12 shooting and went 10-for-15 from the free throw line.
- Ashley racked up nine steals in Sunday's overtime contest, falling one short of Bryant's DI single-game record.
- Mary Burke is in her 27th season at the helm of the Bulldogs and has had four straight winning seasons.
- The Terriers will stay on the road and head to Vermont for a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday, Dec. 3.
