BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball will take the floor at The Roof for the final time in 2017, as it will take on UCF on Wednesday, Dec. 13 with tipoff slated for 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- BU saw its three-game win streak snapped on Saturday as Marist handed the Terriers an 80-52 defeat.
- Nia Irving led the Terriers in rebounding for the third straight game, collecting seven boards and tied Katie Nelson for the team lead with nine points.
- Vanessa Edgehill posted a strong performance off the bench, knocking down a pair of triples and finished with eight points.
- Sophie Beaudry led BU with three assists and recorded a block for the fourth straight game.
- The Terriers were held to their lowest shooting percentage of the season (.288).
LEADING THE PACK
- Nia Irving has led the Terriers in scoring and rebounding in each of the last three games.
- During that stretch, she has averaged 14.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
- Irving has done most of her damage in the first half, as she has scored 33 of her last 44 points in the first half on 65.2 percent (15-of-23) shooting.
BLOCK PARTY
- As a team, the Terriers lead the Patriot League with 5.38 blocks per game.
- BU has swatted at least four shots over the last four games, including a season-high 11 blocks against Boston College Nov. 26.
- Sophie Beaudry ranks second in the Patriot League with 2.3 blocks per game.
- Beaudry has notched at least one block in all but one game this season.
- The senior led the league with 2.1 blocks per game a season ago and was named to both the All-Patriot League First Team and the All-Defensive Team.
FLOOR GENERAL
- Katie Nelson leads the Patriot League with 4.9 assists per game and is the only player in the conference to average over four assists.
- Nelson leads the team and all freshmen in the league with 13.1 points per game.
- The freshman also ranks fourth in the league with a 1.6 assist to turnover ratio and leads the league with 36.3 minutes per game.
NON-CONFERENCE STRETCH
- Following Wednesday's contest against the Knights, BU will close out its non-conference slate on Friday, Dec. 22 at Brown.
- Should BU win at least one of its next two contests, it would secure its first winning record in non-conference games since the 2012-13 season.
SCOUTING UCF
- The Knights cruised past Georgia Southern, 62-38, on Sunday to improve to 5-4 on the season.
- Zakiya Saunders and Aliyah Gregory are the top scoring threats, as each is averaging 14.8 points per game.
- Korneila Wright follows with 10.0 ppg and leads the team with 3.77 assists per game.
- Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is in her second year at the helm of the Knights.
- Abrahamson-Henderson guided a 14-game turnaround season last year, as UCF finished with a 21-12 mark, marking the second-best turnaround in DI women's basketball last year.
- The Terriers will head to Brown for a 1 p.m. matchup on Friday, Dec. 22.
