
BU Seeks Sweep Against Lafayette Sunday on CBS Sports Network

BOSTON – Playing its third contest of the week, the Boston University men's basketball team will conclude a two-game homestand against Lafayette on Sunday with the CBS Sports Network broadcast slated to begin at 12 p.m.
The coaching staff will be wearing Autism Speaks' signature blue puzzle piece lapel pins on national television to build awareness and show support of the organization and families affected by Autism. The team will also be collecting donations at the door, but fans can donate online at autismspeaks.org.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU enters the weekend third in the PL standings at 7-4, one game behind Navy and one ahead of three schools (Loyola, Lehigh and Holy Cross).
- The Terriers lead the PL with the most home wins this season at nine and need one more to reach double-digits for the first time since claiming 11 in 2013-14.
- They are shooting 44.3 percent overall and an even better 46.4 percent at home while holding opponents to 39.7 percent in Case Gym.
- Senior Eric Fanning (15.4 ppg), senior Justin Alston (11.4 ppg) and junior Cedric Hankerson (10.5 ppg) are all averaging double figures with Fanning averaging an impressive 21.0 ppg and 7.3 rpg over the last eight contests.
- BU ranks tied-35th nationally in steals per game at 8.0 spg ... At home though, the number has dropped to 5.8 spg ... Sophomore Kyle Foreman leads the PL in conference games at 2.5 spg.
- The Leopards are on an eight-game losing streak with three of the losses decided by single-digits.
- They are 3-7 on the road and 1-3 in the Patriot League with a 78-69 win at Loyola Maryland and losses at Holy Cross (71-54), American (71-57), Lehigh (75-68) and Army (80-73).
- Lafayette's strongest win came at Saint Peter's (61-57) back on Nov. 14 ... Two weeks following the contest, the Peacocks defeated the Terriers at home, 80-67.
- In conference play, Lafayette is averaging 66.1 ppg while shooting 43.1 percent while opponents sit at 77.5 ppg and 46.6 FG%.
- 6-foot-8 forward Matt Klinewski is averaging a team-high 16.3 ppg with 6.0 rpg and an even-better 17.5 ppg in conference play while shooting 52.0 percent ... 5-foot-11 guard Nick Lindner (13.5 ppg) leads in assists at 4.6 apg.
- BU leads the all-time series, 9-6, dating back to 1948-49 and is 7-2 since joining the Patriot League in the summer of 2013.
- The Terriers eliminated the Leopards in the quarterfinals of 2014 but were eliminated themselves by Lafayette in the 2015 quarterfinals.
- BU came back in 2016 with a sweep, first posting a 68-47 win at home and then claiming an 89-82 overtime victory on the road.
- Back on Jan. 8, the Terriers led by nine (64-55) with 10:06 remaining before hitting three-straight 3-pointers to ignite a 20-5 run over the following 4:30.
- BU hit a school-record 18 3-pointers for the 91-75 win ... Klinewski led all players with 34 points, while Lidner had 17, but BU featured five men in double figures, including Fanning at 21 points.
