Reagan Rust scored her first goal as a Terrier, but the Boston University women's ice hockey team suffered a 2-1 setback to Merrimack on Saturday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena.
GOAL-BY-GOAL
- Rust opened the scoring on the power play at the 11:30 mark of the first period. Senior Victoria Bach's first shot was turned aside, but Rust jumped on the rebound and fired a shot past Samantha Ridgewell (31 saves).
- The Warriors answered with a power-play goal of their own in the second stanza to tie the game.
- Then, at the very end of a 5-on-3 advantage, Megan Fergusson snuck a puck past Erin O'Neil (30 saves) for the game-winner.
ANOTHER NEWCOMER SHINES IN AN OPENER
- With her goal, Rust became the fourth straight Terrier newcomer to record a point in her BU debut.
- In two seasons at RIT, Rust had totaled eight goals and 24 assists for 32 points.

- BU will be off until Oct. 6 when the Terriers welcome Northeastern to Walter Brown Arena for the opening game of a home-and-home series.
- Puck drop will be at 7 p.m.
