BOSTON - Following capturing its first win of the season, the Boston University women's basketball team return to the road for a matchup at Marist on Friday, Nov. 16. Opening tip from McCann Arena is slated for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU picked up its first win of the season, using an all-around effort to hand Brown a 72-51 defeat on Monday.
- With the win, head coach Marisa Moseley earned her first career victory as a collegiate head coach.
- Nia Irving led all players with 12 rebounds to go with 16 points for her ninth career double-double.
- Katie Nelson also reached double figures with 10 points and distributed seven assists, one more than Brown collectively had as a team.
- The Terriers assisted on 70 percent of their field goals for the night.
- Irving leads the team in scoring (12.5) and rebounding (8.5) average.
- Lauren Spearman follows with 11.5 points per game and has accounted for seven of the team's 13 3-pointers.
- Payton Hauck is also averaging double figures (10.5), while Nelson leads the team in assists (5.0).
SCOUTING MARIST
- A perennial power in the MAAC, Marist is coming off a 20-win season that finished with a berth in the WNIT, ending with a 20-14 record.
- The Red Foxes cruised past Navy in its opener, 72-48, on Sunday.
- Regining MAAC Rookie of the Year Rebekah Hand led all scorers with 20 points, while Alana Gilmer posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Mids.
- Marist returns 98 percent of its scoring and all five starters from a season ago.
- Head coach Brian Giorgis is in his 17th season and has guided the Red Foxes to 13 postseason tournament appearances and 11 conference championships.
THE SERIES
- The Red Foxes have won each of the last five matchups and hold a 9-5 edge in the all-time series.
- BU's last victory came in a 62-56 overtime contest in Poughkeepsie on Dec. 8, 2012.
