BOSTON - The Boston University women's basketball team will open up a three-game homestand on Tuesday, Nov. 20 as Bryant visits Case Gym for 7 p.m. tip.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are coming off a 68-57 defeat at Marist to drop to 1-2 on the season.
- Nia Irving led all scorers with 16 points, all coming in the second half, including 10 in the third quarter.
- Lauren Spearman posted a team-best seven rebounds to go with four 3-pointers.
- Nia Irving leads the team in scoring (13.7) and rebounding (7.0).
- The sophomore has posted back-to-back 16-point games, shooting 60.0 percent from the floor in each.
- Lauren Spearman has accounted for 11 of the team's 19 makes from beyond-the-arc, good for 57.8 percent.
- Additionally, she leads the league in 3-point field goals per game (3.7) and is shooting .333 percent from deep.
- Katie Nelson leads team with 3.7 assists per game, which ranks fourth in the league.
- She is also tied with Naiyah Thompson for the team lead in steals (4).
- BU put forth its best performance from the free throw line at Marist, connecting on 13-of-14 attempts.
- That mark, which accounted for a 92.9 percent clip, is the best a team in the Patriot League has shot from the charity stripe this season.
SCOUTING BRYANT
- Entering Tuesday with a 2-2 record, Bryant is coming off two straight losses, most recently suffering a 94-48 setback at No. 25 West Virginia on Thursday.
- Sydney Holloway averages a double-double with 19.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, which is tied for 17th in the NCAA.
- Hannah Scanlan follows in rebounds (7.5) and ranks third in points (10.0).
- Haley Connors is the team's top 3-point threat with 2.8 triples per game and ranks second in scoring average (14.0).
- Head coach Mary Burke is in her 28th season at the helm of the program.
- Burke has a 392-394 career record at Bryant, going 246-234 at the DII level and has posted a 146-159 record since the Bulldogs transitioned to the DI level during the 2008-09 season.
THE SERIES
- BU won the debut matchup in the series in Smithfield, 78-61, on Nov. 29, 2017.
- The Terrier bench contributed 56 points, led by a 16-point effort by Nia Irving.
