Winans Breaks 200 Free Record on Opening Day of PL Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - For the second straight year at the Patriot League Championships, Trevor Winans led off the 800 free relay with a record-breaking time of 1:36.35 to highlight the Boston University men's swimming and diving opening day of the Patriot League Championships, hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall.
Overall, the Terriers stand in third place, tallying 72 points after three events.
Both relay teams set season-best times as the 200 medley team claimed fifth place with a time of 1:30.72 and the 800 free team picked up fourth place, finishing at 6:40.94.
Cameron Schoffstall earned 14 points with a fifth-place finish in the 3-meter dive with a score of 275.70.
Navy (132) and Army West Point (107) blew away the competition to take commanding advantages. Bucknell followed BU by one point (71), while Loyola (67), Lehigh (63), Colgate (61), Lafayette (43), American (39) and Holy Cross (36) rounded out the competition.
The one-meter dive, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 400 medley relay will take place tomorrow.
