LA JOLLA, Calif. – After capturing the doubles point, the Boston University women's tennis team dropped a pair of three-set matches for a heart-breaking 4-3 loss to Utah State on Tuesday afternoon at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.
The Terriers (5-5) won the first two doubles matches for a 1-0 lead and then claimed two singles points in straight sets. However, the Aggies rallied with four singles victories, including a 11-9 third-set tiebreaker win at line 1 for the final point, to escape with the team win.

- Junior Remi Ramos first teamed with freshman Lily Burchell for a 6-4 win at the top doubles slot and then rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at line 2 in singles action.
- Freshmen Katya Martens and Dani Blaser helped BU earn the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at line 3.
- Junior Sophia Kryloff posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 slot for BU's third point.
- Utah State edged Burchell (#3) and Martens (#5) in straight sets.
- Freshman Emily Kim rallied to force a third set in the No. 4 slot but ultimately came up short, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
- Senior Iryna Kostirko also forced a third set after winning just two games in the first but was edged in the final tiebreaker for the 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(9) loss.
- BU moved to 1-1 this season in one-point decisions after an earlier 4-3 victory at Harvard, while the Aggies improved to 3-0 in one-point decisions with wins over Grand Canyon and Idaho State.
