The Boston University women's ice hockey team will host the Durham West Lightning in an exhibition game on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m., and admission is free.
Friday's fixture will serve as the Terriers' lone tune-up before they begin the regular season with a pair of home games against defending league champion Northeastern. The Terriers are The Terriers are 11-2-2 all-time in exhibition contests, including a 7-1 victory over Durham in an exhibition on Sept. 27, 2009.

will begin his 14th season behind the BU bench, which will boast sixteen returning skaters and seven freshmen. The Terriers will be led on the ice by three captains - senior Reagan Rust

and junior Natasza Tarnowski
. For Davis, Friday marks her return to the ice after she missed all of last season due to injury.
Among the returning letter winners are three players that received end-of-season honors from Hockey East. Junior defender Abby Cook
was a Hockey East First Team All-Star last year after she finished third among all NCAA defenders with a career-high 24 assists and also added two goals for a career-best 26 total points. Sophomores Corinne Schroeder
and Jesse Compher
were named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team last year after stellar debut campaigns. Compher earned an invite to the 2018 U.S. Women's National Team Evaluation Camp earlier this month, while Hockey Canada invited Schroeder to its National Women's Development Team selection camp in August.
Durham is off to a 1-0-1 start in the Provinicial Women's Hockey League this season. Defender Madelaine Wood leads Durham with four points thanks to a team-high three assists. Margaret MacEachern has scored a team-best two goals and is tied with Kate Maclean (1g, 2a) for second on the squad in points with three. Goaltenders Ashley Imlach and Victoria Kelaiditis have split time between the pipes so far, with each player allowing just one goal and making 24 saves apiece. Imlach was in goal for her squad's lone win of the young season.
BU will begin the 2018-19 regular season on Friday, Oct. 5, when the Terriers welcome Northeastern to Walter Brown Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
