BOSTON - Following a week off from competition, the Boston University women's basketball team will break for a two-game road trip in California, starting with UC Davis on Thursday, Dec. 5. Opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. PST.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU will play in California for the first time since 2003 this week.
- Additionally, the Terriers will be playing both UC Davis and Cal for the first time in program history.
- Maggie Pina posted a season-high 12 points, leading the Terriers in scoring for the first time this season in the previous outing against Harvard, where BU suffered a 66-39 setback.
- Liz Shean made her collegiate debut, finishing with two points and one steal.
- Nia Irving is just 79 points away from becoming the 23rd Terrier to reach the 1,000-career points milestone.
- Irving leads the team in scoring (15.2) and rebounding (7.0).
- Prior to the Harvard game, Katie Nelson was the only student-athlete in the NCAA to play every minute of every game.
- The junior has played in 194 minutes this season and leads the team in assists per game (3.6) and ranks third in scoring average (10.4).
SCOUTING UC DAVIS
- Katie Toole leads the team with 18.6 points per game, which ranks second in the Big West.
- Toole is also leading the conference in shooting percentage (.612) and 3-point field goal percentage (56.5).
- Kayla Konrad follows in scoring (10.7) while grabbing a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game.
- Mackenzie Trpcic ranks second in the Big West in assists per game (5.6) and has provided at leas six helpers in five straight contests.
- Head coach Jennifer Gross has been named the Big West Conference Coach of the Year in each of the last three seasons.
