Davis Named Hockey East Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Redshirt junior Sammy Davis of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday, the league office announced.

Davis led the league in goals (3) and points (5) this week as she led the Terriers to a 1-0-1 record and a trip to the Beanpot title game. She began her week with a goal and two assists in a 3-3 tie with No. 3 Northeastern. Davis then scored two third-period goals in a 7-1 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.

This is the second time this season that Davis has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, as she also earned the honor in December. Davis is in the midst of a career year, having notched 21 goals and added 21 assists for 42 points. All three totals are career highs for Davis, who enters Tuesday's Beanpot championship game on a six-game point streak.

BU will look to win its first Beanpot as a varsity program on Tuesday night when the Terriers take on host Harvard at 8 p.m.
