Terriers Remain on the Road for Sunday Tilt at Army

BOSTON - Wrapping a week on the road, the Boston University women's basketball team will head to Army West Point on Sunday, Jan. 12 for a 1 p.m. tipoff.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Taking on the Patriot League preseason favorite and current front runner, BU struggled to get into rhythm as it fell to Lehigh, 51-34, Wednesday night at Stabler Arena.
  • Lehigh used the 3-point shot to remain atop the Patriot League standings, as 12 of its 19 field goals came from distance. 
  • Maren Durant have been a sparkplug off the bench over the last two games, as she led the Terriers with eight points against Lehigh and had a career day against American with nine points and nine rebounds.
  • Durant has averaged 8.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over the last two games.
  • Nia Irving is just nine points away from becoming the 23rd Terrier to reach the 1,000-career points milestone.
  • Riley Childs leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game and has grabbed at least six boards in each of the last 10 games.
SCOUTING ARMY WEST POINT
  • The Black Knights are off to an 0-3 start in Patriot League action and stand at 4-10 overall.
  • Army is coming off a 73-57 loss to American on Wednesday, and has now dropped five of its last six games.
  • Alysa Fallon (12.9), Lindsey Scamann (11.9) and Sabria Hunter (10.0) are the top scorers on the team.
  • Hunter is the leading rebounder with 8.6 boards per game, but has missed the last six games.
  • Freshmen Hope Brown and Kamryn Hall each average 8.1 points per game.
  • Hall and Hunter have each been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week twice this season, while Brown has earned the distinction once as well.
THE SERIES
  • BU has won four of the last five matchups with Army, picking up three of those wins in West Point.
  • Army won the first eight matchups against the Terriers since they joined the Patriot League, but six of BU's seven wins in the series have been decided by double digits.
UP NEXT
  • BU will head to Boston for a pair of home games next week, first hosting Loyola on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
  • Tipoff against the Greyhounds is scheduled for 6 p.m.
