COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior co-captain Jesse Compher of the Boston University women's ice hockey team has been invited to the United States Women's National Team Evaluation Camp, USA Hockey announced on Friday.
Compher has been a fixture with the senior national team over the last two years. She won a gold medal at the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship and was named to the roster for the 2020 Women's World Championship that was ultimately canceled. Compher also skated in the first two games of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series against Canada last December, centering her country's top line in the second of those two contests. The Northbrook, Illinois, native has participated in three major international tournaments with the U.S., having also skated in the 2016 and 2017 Under-18 Women's World Championships, and has won gold all three times.
In 100 career games with the Terriers, Compher has scored 39 goals and added 77 assists for 116 points. After missing her team's first nine games last year due to injury, Compher returned to tally 29 points on 13 goals and 16 assists en route to being selected as a Hockey East Second Team All-Star. In 2018-19, Compher was named a Second Team All-American and a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award after she totaled 61 points (17g, 44a).
The camp, which is part of the process in selecting the U.S. Women's National Team for the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship in April, will be held from Oct. 25-31 in Blaine, Minn.
