HOW IT HAPPENED
- UConn opened the scoring 4:31 into the proceedings and added a second goal with 2:20 to play in the first period.
- BU nearly responded in the final seconds of the frame during a power play, but Nearis' attempt hit the post.
- The Huskies added two more goals in the middle stanza to take a 4-0 lead.
- McGuigan kept the Huskies off the board with a terrific stop midway through the third period when she went post-to-post to deny Natalie Snodgrass after she got behind the Terrier defense.
- BU continued to press for a goal and got rewarded with 2:48 in the final frame. Nearis won a battle in the left corner and dished the puck back to Correia at the bottom of the left circle. Correia needed just one touch to get the puck to a wide-open Parker at the right post for the goal.
- Nearis and Correia have notched a point in all three games this season.
- Correia leads the team with four points thanks to four assists, while Nearis has tallied two goals in addition to her helper on Friday.
- Parker is now one of six Terriers with at least two points this season (1g, 1a).
- Friday marked McGuigan's third career appearance. She has yet to allow a goal in nearly 50 minutes of action.
- Sophomore Haylee Blinkhorn and freshman Tamara Giaquinto each led BU with three shots on goal apiece.
- The Terriers went 2-for-3 on the penalty kill but were unable to score on their three power-play chances.
