Welcome to #TerrierTown

On the west end of Boston University's campus on Commonwealth Ave. along the banks of the Charles River, the Athletics facilities our teams compete in are all connected within a span of less than a mile within the shadows of downtown Boston.
With over 600 student-athletes competing at the highest level of college sports, our department takes great pride in our athletic campus that we share with our student body and fans.
This is Terrier Town.
"I feel fortunate every day to have access to the world-class facilities BU has created for our program," said men's lacrosse head coach Ryan Polley. "Whether it's playing our home contests on historic Nickerson Field with the Boston skyline as our backdrop, or meeting in our state-of-the-art locker room, we're blessed to have such beautiful spaces to share with our team and alumni. Additionally, thanks to an anonymous donor, we completed phase one of our lacrosse suite renovations and built a stunning conference room that both the men's and women's lacrosse staff can utilize for meetings and strategy that will better both our programs."
The most recent facilities upgrade took place earlier this year when the BU Softball Field was resodded and a new videoboard was installed.
"Our department is focused on creating a championship culture for our student-athletes," said softball head coach Ashley Waters. "They are consistently working to upgrade our facilities and give our athletes the most rewarding experience. The new infield dirt plays smooth and the outfield grass is beautiful. The most exciting addition was a state-of-the-art videoboard. This incredible gift will showcase the students' talents to our fans and add to the in-game atmosphere. Our program has always had a strong home field advantage, and these continued improvements in our facilities will help us build off the last two Patriot League championship seasons."
Two years ago, the entire department benefited from the opening of the Terrier Fueling Station within the Strength & Conditioning Center. The station gives student-athletes access to nutritious food, maximizing their energy and performance during their busy schedules.
"The Terrier Fueling Station is a wonderful asset for our student-athletes," added Waters. "It provides them with healthy options pre- and post-lift for optimum performance and recovery."
BU is also home to a world-renowned indoor track complex that attracts some of the sport's finest athletes.
"Boston University's Track & Tennis Center is hands down the fastest indoor track in the world," said director of track & field Gabe Sanders. "It has been home to multiple American and world-record performances including Yomif Kejelcha's world record time of 3:47.01 in the mile. It is world class in every way and I am honored to call it our home track."
One of the most successful programs in Terrier history received a new home in 2013, the same year that the department moved to the Patriot League. Head coach Sally Starr and the field hockey team has continued to be one the best programs in the country.
"New Balance Field has become a very special home for Terrier field hockey and we're grateful for having our facility right next to both our offices and our locker room," said Starr. "I'm also very grateful to our athletic department for organizing a residential campus and protocols that are giving our athletes the opportunity to practice together this fall after being apart since March."
With campus coming alive again for the 2020-21 school year, the Athletics department is looking forward to creating safe practice environments for all of our teams so they can be ready to take the first steps towards returning to games and events in Terrier Town.
