Terriers Finish Tied for Second at Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Led by senior Hanako Kawasaki's runner-up finish, the Boston University women's golf team placed tied for second at the Yale Invitational, which wrapped on Sunday at the Yale Golf Course.

The Terriers tied with the host Bulldogs at +25, nine strokes behind the tournament champion, Boston College.

Kawasaki put together three rounds of even par or better (70-71-70--211) and finished at -2 to place second among the 66 participating golfers. Sophomore Flair Kuan gave the Terriers a pair of top-five finishers as she put together a 214 (70-68-76), good for a tie for fourth at +1.

Freshman Victoria Takai had a solid showing, placing in a tie for 18th at +13 (79-71-76), and classmate Christy Chen four strokes back at +17 (79-75-76) to finish 31st. Juniors Alice Fan (84-71-80) and Monica Yu (82-77-76) were in a tie for 38th at +22.

The Terriers will wrap up their fall season next weekend when they return to Connecticut to participate in the SHU Fall Classic.
