Easton, Pa. – Trailing by eight points to start the fourth quarter, the Boston University women's basketball erupted in the final stanza, outscoring Lafayette 23-8 to earn a 53-46 comeback victory Sunday afternoon at the Kirby Sports Center.
The Terriers utilized a 17-0 run over the first seven minutes of the frame to swing the scoreboard. From there, BU knocked down its free throw attempts to earn the victory in its return from a three-week layoff from competition.

- Maren Durant went for back-to-back baskets before Sydney Johnson repeated the feat to push the Terriers ahead, 12-6.
- Katie Nelson found Riley Childs in transition to make it a 15-10 game, though the Leopards added two quick makes to knot the score at the end of the first.
- Lafayette used a 7-2 run to open the second, taking a 22-17 grip midway through the frame.
- Emily Esposito found her stroke from mid-range, then found Durant on the block to cut the gap to one, 22-21, with three minutes left in the half.
- Once again, Lafayette sunk five quick points to end the quarter, extending its advantage to 27-21 at the break.
- Following an early timeout in the third by BU, Johnson and Esposito combined for a 6-2 streak, making it a 33-27 game.
- Trailing by eight to start the fourth, Maggie Pina connected from 3-point range, Childs banked a putback layup, and Nelson netted her own from deep to tie it up at 38-all with 6:07 left.
- BU held the Leopards to just 27.3% (3-for-11) shooting in the fourth and went 10-for-12 from the free throw line down the stretch to improve to 5-1 on the road this season.
