BOSTON - Bolstered by former Terriers throughout the organization, the Boston Pride captured the 2021 Isobel Cup on Saturday with a 4-3 victory over Nina Rodgers ('18) and the Minnesota Whitecaps.
Four former BU standouts were on the Pride roster, led by assistant captain and six-year NWHL veteran
Kaleigh Fratkin, who claimed her first Isobel Cup after being in the league since its founding in 2015. She was joined by Mary Parker ('17), who scored in both playoff games this weekend,
Sammy Davis ('20), who lit the lamp in the Pride's semifinal win over
Sarah Steele ('17) and Toronto, and
Victoria Hanson ('17). Karilyn Pilch ('09) is the team's general manager and was instrumental in the construction of the title-winning club.
Rodgers had an outstanding postseason for the Whitecaps, as she tallied three assists in Minnesota's semifinal win over
Shannon Doyle ('15) and Connecticut. Like Fratkin, Doyle is a founding member of the league and was a two-year captain of the Whale.
These Terriers join
Rebecca Russo ('16) as BU alumnae to claim the Isobel Cup. Fratkin is the first Terrier to win both an Isobel Cup and the CWHL's Clarkson Cup. In total, over a dozen former Terriers have won a championship in a North American professional women's hockey league.
