BOSTON - The Boston University women's basketball team will continue its Patriot League Tournament run as it hosts American for a semifinal contest on Thursday, March 11 at 6 p.m.

The second-seeded Terriers advanced to the semifinals for the second consecutive season following Sunday's 74-68 quarterfinal round win over Lafayette. BU displayed its best 3-point shooting performance of the season, connecting on 13-of-22 attempts (.591), as Sydney Johnson, Maggie Pina and Katie Nelson each made at least four 3-pointers. Leading by one to start the fourth quarter, the Terriers used a 14-0 run to start the frame to put the game out of reach.

With the win, BU improved to 3-1 in home Patriot League Tournament games, and 2-2 in quarterfinal games. Thursday will mark the fourth postseason matchup between the Terriers and Eagles. BU edged American, 46-44, in last season's quarterfinal matchup for its first Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal win in program history.

American, the No. 3 seed, advanced with a 76-56 victory over Army West Point on Sunday. The Eagles are led by Jade Edwards, an All-Patriot League First Team and All-Defensive Team selection. Edwards has led the conference in scoring all season, pouring in an average of 18.5 points per game, and ranks third with a .547 shooting percentage.
