Racing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. when the Terriers V8 goes head-to-head with the Mids, followed by the 2V8 race at 1:20 p.m. and concluding with the 3V8 race at 1:40 p.m.
This weekend will mark the first time the Terriers have taken on Navy in a duel race since way back in 1989 when Navy prevailed 6:26.7 to 6:31.3 on the Charles River and just the third time since 1954.
"The squad is really looking forward to facing Navy on Sunday," said head men's rowing coach Thomas Bohrer. "It has been over 30 years since we last met up in a duel race. Over the last five years both programs have met up in Clemson, South Carolina to scrimmage after our training camps and the racing was very competitive. Navy races really hard and the guys are tough so this should be a great Patriot League matchup".
"There is also some additional history between Navy and BU as former Head Coach Rodney Pratt was an assistant for many years at Navy under then head coach Rick Clothier. Both head coaches had done tremendous things for their respective programs. I hope in the future that BU and Navy will have a regular date on the calendar to race every year along with other Patriot League schools like Holy Cross and Colgate".
