HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU earned the first power play of the contest but the Huskies successfully killed it off and then opened the scoring four seconds later.
- Chloe Aurard picked off a pass right outside the NU zone as the BU power play expired and then skated around a defender before firing and scoring from the high slot at 9:54 of the first.
- The Terriers got an equalizer when Martin, from above the left circle, snapped a shot that beat NU netminder Aerin Frankel high glove side with 4:16 remaining in the opening frame.
- Stuart made four saves on an NU power play late in the first to keep it a 1-1 contest heading into the first intermission.
- The teams traded power-play opportunities throughout the second period and the visitors used one to take the lead for good.
- With just six seconds remaining on a player advantage, Andrea Renner found Mia Brown in the right circle, where the senior deposited the puck for a 2-1 lead at 7:20 of the middle stanza.
- Stuart made at least 13 saves in each period and recorded 16 in the third alone.
- With the teams skating at full strength, Alina Mueller tacked on the late insurance goal with 1:32 left in regulation.
- Stuart's previous career best for saves in a game was on Oct. 12, 2019, when she made 43 stops at New Hampshire.
- Martin has averaged a point per game over her last five appearances, notching two goals and adding three assists during that stretch.
- Shaunessy has recorded seven points (1g, 6a) over her last five contests.
- Frankel made 17 saves in goal for the Huskies.
- BU was 0-for-3 on the power play and successfully killed off three of NU's four player-up opportunities.
- The Terriers gave NU one of its two losses this season back on Oct. 8.
- The Terriers and Huskies will wrap up their regular-season series on Friday (Jan. 21) at Matthews Arena.
- The game, which will be televised on NESN, starts at 4 p.m.
