Men's Swimming Opens Terrier Invitational with Top-Four Finishes

Day 1 Results

BOSTON - Thanks to four individuals with top-four finishes, the Boston University men's swimming & diving team posted 312 points on the opening day of the Terrier Invitational at FitRec Competition Pool on Friday.

Freshman Tony Ponomarev (200 IM) and junior Justin Lee (50 free) had second-place efforts while sophomore Lyde De Hooghe (3-meter dive) and senior Ethan Thomas (50 free) posted fourth-place finishes as the Terriers stand in third place among five teams after the first day of competition.

Two more top-four finishes came in relays, as the 400 medley of Ponomarev, senior Kyle Falkstrom, Lee and Thomas took third (3:20.10) and the 200 freestyle relay of Lee, Thomas, freshman Ben Cho and senior Jacob Lindner tied for fourth (1:23.03). BU's 'B' and 'C' 200 freestyle relays took seventh and 10th, respectively,

Sophomore Dolan Grisbaum placed ninth in the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:34.64 and Lindner won the 50 free B final with a time that would have tied for fifth in the A final (20.86).
