BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Graduate students Aksel Laudon and Meghan Convery of the Boston University men's and women's cross country teams have been named to their respective Academic All-Patriot League team, the conference announced Wednesday.
To be named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in their sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
Laudon, a first year medical student, adds his Academic All-Patriot League title to his previous honor roll nods from the conference. He helped the Terriers to third on the men's side at the conference championship and was a top scorer for BU throughout the season. He notably won the men's open 5K at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown in September.
Convery is one of six members on the academic team who also earned all-league honors at the Patriot League Championship. She finished eighth in the 6K race and helped the BU women to a third-place team finish. Convery is pursuing her graduate degree in communications.
The Terriers will head to Van Cortland Park, N.Y. this Saturday for the NCAA Regional Championships.
