Terriers Sit in Third After Opening Day of Babs Steffens Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Boston University women's golf team opened competition at the 2022 Babs Steffens Invitational on Sunday, shooting 310-301--611 (+35) in the first two rounds at the LPGA International Hills Course. The Terriers are currently in third place among 11 teams.
Sophomore Flair Kuan shot 74 in both rounds and is currently tied for sixth at +4. Senior Hanako Kawasaki opened with a 77 before improving three strokes in the second round to move into a tie for 13th at +7. Freshman Christy Chen is one stroke back at +8 as she fired a 79 in the morning before turning in a 73, which was the best round by a Terrier all day.
Junior Alice Fan is tied for 37th (+16) after shooting two rounds of 80 and classmate Kristen Min Ju Kim is tied tied for 43 (+21) after posting an 83 and an 82.
Freshman Victoria Takai is competing as individual and she had an impressive improvement, opening with an 85 before shooting a 76 in round two to finish the day tied for 40th at +17.
BU will enter Monday's final round one stroke ahead of fourth-place Fairleigh Dickinson and six strokes behind second-place Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. Campbell currently leads the tournament at +12.
