
Terriers Move Up Leaderboard on Day Two of Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Boston University women's golf team got back in contention at the Patriot League Championship on Saturday, leading all teams with a 301 in the second round to move up to second place and just a stroke out of the lead entering Sunday's final round at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course.
Freshman Christy Chen led all players on Sunday with a even-par 72 while sophomore Flair Kuan posted a 74 and sits atop the individual leaderboard by one stroke.
Junior Alice Fan put together one of her best rounds of the year with a 75 thanks to a even front nine. The last score to count towards the team total was a tie, as senior Hanako Kawasaki and junior Kristen Min Ju Kim each shot an 80. Freshman Victoria Takai posted an 82.
Four Terriers are currently in the top 10 of the tournament leaderboard with Kuan leading all golfers at +6 (76-74--150), one stroke ahead of Richmond's Rory Weinfurther and Lehigh's Sophie Holland. Chen is tied for sixth at +10 (82-72--154) while Kawasaki is alone in 10th at +13 (77-80--157).
Fan is currently tied for 15th at +15 (84-75--159) while Kim (81-80--161) and Takai (79-82--161) are tied for 22nd at +17.
BU started the second round nine strokes out of first but will enter just one stroke from the top. The Terriers will compete with Richmond and Lehigh in the final groups starting at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
