Women's Tennis Opens PL Tourney with 4-0 Win over Lafayette

With their eighth straight win, the Terriers improve to 13-7, while the Leopards see their season end at 5-12. BU won two doubles matches by a combined score of 12-2 and then cruised to three singles wins to be the first of the top four seeds to advance to semifinals.
Senior Shelly Yaloz was the lone Terrier to win both of her matches in time, as she teamed with sophomore Kaitlin Tan for a 6-1 win at line 2 in doubles and then claimed 6-2, 6-1 singles victory in the No. 4 slot.
Sophomore Victoria Carlsten and freshman Michelle Kleynerman won the other doubles match at line 3 by an identical score of 6-1.
Graduate student Emily Kim led all players with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 victory at line 6. Junior Erica Di Battista clinched the team's semifinal appearance with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
BU will next face No. 4 Loyola Maryland in the semifinals on Saturday (April 23) at 11 a.m. with No. 2 Navy and No. 3 Army West Point scheduled to meet in the other semifinal contest at 3 p.m.
