BU Sends Three Boats to Grand Final, Wins V8 Petite Final at Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's rowing team saved the best for last at Sunday's Eastern Sprints in Worcester, when they posted a first-place finish in the varsity eight petite final with a time of 6:56.37.

The team's top boat, which was coxed by Mia Ball and stroked by Kat Robbins, nearly missed advancing to the grand final, after Temple edged it by less than a second in the morning's heats.

Coxswain Trisha Jaggi and stroke seat Tiare Hicks helped BU's second varsity eight advance to its grand final, where they placed fourth with a time of 7:03.58, behind Brown, Rutgers and Cornell.

The varsity four, coxed by Audrey Lucerne and stroked by Hannah Look, also qualified for its grand final, finishing sixth with a time of 7:56.56.

Coxswain Kellyann Reidy and stroke seat Reagan Lynch guided their boat to a time of 7:42.61, good enough for fourth place in the varsity four B petite final.

The Terriers finished sixth in the varsity four C grand final after coxswain Heidi Cook and stroke seat Sonya Carson finished the course with a time of 8:10.441

The Terriers have next weekend off before traveling to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, for the Patriot League Championships.
