Terriers Capture 2022 Patriot League Women's Rowing Championship
May 13, 2022 | Women's Rowing
CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Thanks to all three boats recording top-two finishes in the Grand Finals, the Boston University women's rowing program secured the 2022 Patriot League Championship on Friday afternoon at Cooper River Park.
BU wins its second Patriot League championship in program history, and the first since 2014. Unseating six-time defending champion Navy, the Terriers earned 50 points in the event to finish ahead of second-place Bucknell (48). The Mids took bronze with 46 points.
For the first time since joining the league, BU won gold in the Second Varsity 8 Grand Final. The Terriers placed second in the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 Grand Finals as well.
Director of Women's Rowing Madeline Davis Tully, in her fifth season, was named the 2022 Patriot League Coach of the Year.
The Terriers' season continues with the 2022 NCAA Championships, held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. from May 27-29. The Division I selection show is slated for Tuesday (May 17).
