Terriers Put Together Strong Opening Round at NCAA Franklin Regional

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Boston University women's golf team got off to a strong start at the NCAA Franklin Regional on Monday at Vanderbilt Legends Club, posting a score of 297 (+9) to stand in eighth place after the opening round.

The Terriers will enter Tuesday's second round 10 strokes behind leader Duke and just four strokes outside of sixth, currently shared by UTSA and Oregon State at +5.

Sophomore Flair Kuan was one of the top performers of the opening round as she posted a 2-under 70 and currently sits in a tie for fourth on the individual leaderboard. Senior Hanako Kawasaki shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 28th while junior Alice Fan turned in a 4-over 76, good for a tie for 43rd. The Terriers' fourth score in their team total came from freshman Christy Chen, who shot a 5-over 77 and is tied for 50th. Freshman Victoria Takai turned in a round of 85.

After playing in threesomes with competitors from Augusta and Austin Peay on Monday, the Terriers will be matched up with Oregon State and Brigham Young on Tuesday. Takai will be the first Terrier to tee off on Tuesday, starting at 9:00 a.m. ET.
