Kriss, Schneider, Sjöberg Collect Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, PA. – Boston University cross country grad student Veronica Kriss, freshman Parker Schneider and freshman Vera Sjöberg were named the Patriot League female runner, male rookie and female rookie of the week, respectively. All three were top scorers for BU at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown.
Kriss led the Terriers in the women's 5K race at Franklin Park, placing 30th and scoring 29 points for BU. With a time of 18:07, she was the first Patriot League runner to finish on the women's side. The conference honor is Kriss' first in cross country.
Schneider was the second Terrier to cross the finish line in the men's 8K race. He finished 33rd and recorded 31 points for BU. One of 13 freshmen to place in the top-50 runners, Schneider was instrumental in the men's sixth-place finish in the meet.
Sjöberg also finished second for BU in the women's 5K race. With a time of 18:18, she notched a 37th-place finish for 36 points and was the third freshman to cross the finish line in the race. She was also the second runner in the conference to finish with only Kriss coming before her.
The Terriers are back in action on Friday at the Paul Short Invite hosted at Lehigh.
