
Terriers Wrap Season at NCAA Northeast Regionals

HOPKINTON, N.H. — The Boston University men's and women's cross country programs wrapped up their seasons on Friday at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, with the men finishing 11th-of-38 and the women taking 13th-of-37.
On the women's side, they were paced by junior Merem Gabriel-Rodriguez, who clocked a 21:03.7 time on the 6K course. The Terriers finished with 409 points, staying ahead of Patriot League opponent Holy Cross (26th, 755). For BU, this is the sixth straight regional with a top-15 finish.
Junior Abby Waddington took 72nd with a 21:13.0 time, and following her was senior Samantha Seabury, who posted a 21:24.9 mark. Sophomore Caroline Collins improved her place from last season by 10 spots, finishing 90th with a 21:26.0 time, and sophomore Luna Scorzelli rounded out the top five with a 21:34.8 mark, taking 102nd.
The men, led by senior Freddy Collins and his 36th-place individual finish (30:22.6) in the 10K, finished with 364 points, ahead of Patriot League competitors Colgate (19th, 536) and Holy Cross (24th, 634). This is the fifth straight year the Terriers have had a top-15 finish at the Northeast Regionals.
Following Collins was senior Tucker Bowerfind, who placed 53rd with a time of 30:35.2. Then senior Parker Schneider took 68th place, clocking a 30:49.5 time. Sophomores Dan Hruska and James American Horse wrapped up the top five, finishing 83rd (30:57.5) and 126th (31:31.1), respectively.
The Terriers have finished their cross country season and will shift toward the indoor track & field season, beginning Dec. 6 with the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
