Abbott Named PL Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman Jessica Abbott of the Boston University women's cross country team was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.
Abbott earned a 15th-place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational with a 6K time of 21:25.4. That helped the Terriers secure their second straight team title at that meet, as the Terriers boasted five runners in the top 25 to finish with 63 points. Abbott has been among the Terriers' five scorers in both races this fall, as she was the second-fastest BU harrier at the season-opening Friar Invitational on Sept. 4.
BU will return to the course on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Terriers compete at the Princeton Fall Meadows Challenge.
