AMESBURY, Mass. - After helping the Boston University women's ice hockey team extend its unbeaten streak to five games, freshman
Brooke Disher has been named the Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Disher collected three assists over two games as the Terriers posted home wins over Merrimack and No. 11 Vermont. The rookie from British Columbia was a key part of defense that allowed just one goal each contest as BU topped Merrimack, 4-1, before a 2-1 overtime victory against the Catamounts.
Disher had the lone assist on senior
Julia Nearis' overtime winner on Saturday after collecting a pair of assists in the third period of the win over Merrimack. She is currently on a four-game point streak with six points (1g, 5a) during the stretch and has 11 points (3g, 8a) on the season. This is her second weekly honor from Hockey East as she was named Rookie of the Week back in November.
The Terriers, winners of three straight, will return to action on Friday (Feb. 3) when they play host to No.15 UConn.
