WINCHESTER, Mass. – Competing in its second to last non-conference match, the Boston University men's tennis team posted a 5-2 victory over Marist on Saturday night at the Winchester Tennis Club.

The Terriers (8-8) won two of the three doubles matches for the first point and then captured four singles points, including three in straight sets, to defeat the Red Foxes (0-10).

Sophomore Cole Knutsen was the lone Terrier to earn two victories, first teaming with junior Jonah Dickson for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles and then rallying from a set down to defeat Nick Suhanitski, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4 singles.

Marist kept the doubles point up for grabs with an identical 6-3 victory in the top slot, but junior Johann Sajonz and sophomore Adrian Pawlowski claimed a 6-4 win at line 3 to give BU the early 1-0 advantage.

Freshman Corey Craig dropped the fewest games in singles action by cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at line 2, while junior Ben Letzer posted a 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 6 court. Sophomore Dion Loutas added the other straight-sets victory by winning the lone tiebreaker of the day and then pulling away early in the second for the 7-6(1), 6-2 win in the top slot.

Marist avoided the sweep by posting a 6-2, 6-3 win at line 3 and 6-4, 6-2 victory at line 5.

The Terriers will next wrap up non-conference play at Harvard on Friday (March 24) with a 6 p.m. start.
