BOSTON – Concluding a five-game homestand, the Boston University softball team will host non-conference rival Harvard on Tuesday with the doubleheader set to begin at 3 p.m.
The Terriers are coming off a three-game sweep over Lafayette by a combined score of 15-5, while the Crimson won two of three at Dartmouth and finished with a 17-8 advantage in runs scored.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are 5-1 at home, earning a 1-0 win over defending Big East champion UConn and posting in non-conference play a doubleheader split against Yale with a 13-0 (5) victory and 2-1 loss.
- Junior Kayla Roncin remains the team leader in batting average (.477), RBIs (33) and homers (5) with 35 runs scored. Classmate Lauren Keleher (.368) has claimed a team-high 21 walks and has earned a team-high 11 doubles while reaching home plate 25 times.
- Senior Caitlin Coker (.350) leads BU with 36 runs scored and five triples alongside 32 RBIs. She hit a solo homer at UMass Lowell last week and recorded an inside-the-park homer against Lafayette over the weekend.
- BU has three pitchers who have earned at least nine starts apiece. Senior Allison Boaz (14-4, 1.55 ERA) has tallied 102 strikeouts in 108.2 innings, while freshman Kasey Ricard (13-2, 1.70 ERA) has posted 130 strikeouts in 90.2 innings. They along with senior Lizzy Avery (4-1, 1.46 ERA) have combined for 19 shutouts, second most in the nation.
- Overall, the Terriers are batting .316 and holding opponents to .197 with a 46-9 advantage in stolen bases and 45-16 lead in doubles.
SCOUTING HARVARD
- The Crimson are 7-4-1 in true road games this year with the 2-1 performance against the Big Green and three-game sweep at Penn by a combined score of 27-7. In the last non-conference trip, Harvard dropped a 6-5 decision at San Diego while earning a 2-2 tie.
- Seven players are batting over .300 with Allison Heffley batting a team-high .424 alongside 12 doubles, two triples, two homers and 17 RBIs. Finley Payne (.362) and Madi Mays (.338) have combined for 31 RBIs, while Lauren Bobowski (.322) has earned 22 runs scored and 18 stolen bases.
- Riley Flynn (5-0, 2.35) has posted 65 strikeouts in 62.2 innings while holding opponents to a miniscule .173 batting average. Katie Arrambide (5-2, 2.51 ERA) has tallied 28 strikeouts in 28 strikeouts in 47.1 innings, while Anna Reed (5-5, 2.46) owns 50 strikeouts in 57.0 innings.
- Overall, Harvard is batting .317 and holding opponents to a .222 average with a 51-24 advantage in stolen bases and 41-32 lead in doubles.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU leads the all-time series, 27-15, after winning last season's doubleheader on the road, 5-0 and 8-1 (6). Harvard pulled out a 4-2 decision at home in 2019.
- The Terriers will host the Crimson for the first time since claiming a 2-1 win in 2014 and will host a doubleheader in the series for the first time since the teams split in 2011, 5-3 and 1-2.

- BU will head to Bucknell for three games over the weekend with Saturday's DH on April 15 set to begin at 12 p.m.
