Chen Shoots 75 to Close Season at NCAA Athens Regional

ATHENS, Ga. - Sophomore Christy Chen closed out the 2023 NCAA Athens Regional on Wednesday with her best round of the tournament, posting a 3-over 75 at UGA Golf Course to finish tied for 53rd at 18-over.
Chen, who started on hole 10, made the turn at even par thanks to back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18. She moved up seven spots on the leaderboard and finished with a total score of 234 (78-81-75).
The 2023 Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Year and the Patriot League Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Chen closed her sophomore campaign with a scoring average of 75.05, a full stroke better than her freshman average.
Chen qualified for the NCAA Regionals after winning the Patriot League Championships with a tournament-record score of 212.
