July 5, 2023

Returning for a 15th year, the Terrier Twelve recognizes the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday this summer as we count down this year's Terrier Twelve on GoTerriers.com

Coming in at number 10 in this year's Terrier 12 is women's golf, highlighted by sophomore Christy Chen's winning the Patriot League individual title and sweeping the conference's major awards.

After entering the season as the defending Patriot League champions, the Terriers had six top-seven finishes in tournaments throughout the regular season with Chen, junior Flair Kuan and senior Alice Fan leading the way. Fan had three top-10 finishes, including two runner-up performances, before the team turned its focus to the league tournament.

At the Patriot League Championship, the Terriers finished runner-up to tournament host Richmond but had strong individual performances. Fan broke the Patriot League tournament single-round record with a second-round 69 and Chen tied it minutes later before adding another 69 in the final round to win the individual title by five strokes with a four-under 212, seven strokes better than the previous record of 219.

Chen, who qualified for the NCAA Regionals with her title, was named Patriot League Golfer of the Year as well as the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's golf. She was joined on the All-Patriot League First Team by Fan, who finished tied for fifth at the league tournament to close out her strong career.
