
Chen, Manjunath Lead BU on Day One of Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Christy Chen of the Boston University women's golf team leads the Princeton Invitational by one stroke after the first two rounds played on Saturday at Springdale Golf Club.
The Terriers posted a 296-301--597 (+29) on Saturday and currently stand in sixth place in the 12-team field. BU stood in third place after the first round.
Chen shot two rounds of 1-under 70 on day one and will take a one-stroke edge over Georgetown's Morgan Smith into Sunday's final round.
Sophomore Annika Manjunath opened with an even-par 71 before adding a 74 to finish the day plus-3 and tied for sixth.
Senior Flair Kuan is currently tied for 41st after shooting 77-78--155 (+13) while freshman Hibiki Adachi shot 78-79--157 is in a tie for 52nd.
Playing as an individual, junior Victoria Takai turned in rounds of 79 and 80 is in 58th place at plus-17 while sister Madison Takai is tied for 61st following an opening-day score of 79-82--161 (+19).
As a team, BU will enter the final round behind four Ivy League schools and just 12 strokes behind second-place Penn. Georgetown is on top at plus-8.
